Note
The petition dates to 1362-1363. The petitioner was pardoned for the death of one Alan de Catherton on 23 May 1362 (CPR 1361-4, p.201). However, as the petitioner was accompanied by SC 8/229/11404 and probably resulted in the issuing of the writ (SC 8/229/11405) which dates to November 1363, the pardon of 1362 may not relate to this petition, so a date of 1362-1363 has been selected to cover both eventualities.
