Nature of endorsement
Let certain people be assigned to enquire of the matter, and when the inquisition is returned and the robbery be found to have been done and the sea passage closed then they are to have arrest on the peers and commoners of the robbers, the arrest not extending to the goods and merchandises of those merchants residing in England; and if the sea passage is open, then let the lords be ordered to do right, and let it hold to its ancient course.
