Nature of request
The bailiffs and burgesses request that the king will provide a remedy for Burgh who has been arrested at Stralsund by the echevins and burgesses and send his letters patent to them. He was arrested because he was thought to be involved in an assault made on their fellows off of Bamburgh. The bailiffs and burgesses have attested that Burgh was with the sailors of the Cinque Ports off of the coast of France at the time, but the echevins and burgesses have ignored this.
