The dean and chapter request that the protection granted to Roecliffe be repealed, and he be not allowed to purchase another until the plea concerning Helperby be determined. They have been left without a day after buying a writ of formedon against Roecliffe for the manor of Helperby by a protection granted by a false allegation that he resides at Berwick, and should he die they would be further delayed until the heir is of age.
