[Petition in 2 parts:]1) The bishop requests a pardon of the payment of the subsidies that he owes to the king if the issues be spent on the construction of the cathedral church, the rebuilding of which he began but has been unable to complete.2) The bishop requests a grant to him and the dean and chapter there that they may appropriate [Llanynys and Llanvair] churches within the diocese and of the bishop's patronage to provide for the sustenance of 4 chaplains and for the repair of the church. Divine service cannot be held as befits a cathedral church and the bishop wished to increase the number of chaplains with the king's aid.
