Note (Additional information about the record)
- It is very likely that this petition dates to 1396 when the burgesses of Bristol received an inspeximus and confirmation with clause licet (CChR 1341-1417, p.353). The burgesses did receive another inspeximus and confirmation in 1401, but this specifically made mention of the charter issued in 1396, so that it seems unlikely that this date should be considered (CChR 1341-1417::pp.414-15).
