Description

Nature of request
John de Preston requests an enquiry into his claims to certain property in South Dissington in Northumberland, and that he be restored to these lands if his claim is found to be good. He claims that the property, originally belonging to William Russell, was seized into the hands of the king's grandfather due to the adherence of Russell's son to the Scots. However, he states that the property was actually held by Russell's daughter, Katherine, and hence should have descended to him as her heir.
