Nature of request
John Mayn requests remedy, stating that he has been wrongfully ousted from his benefice at Holy Trinity, Colchester. He states that he was presented to that church by the abbot and convent of Colchester, and held it for over six years until Crowle and Wryth, seeking to oust him, claimed the benefice to be vacant. Crowle sued a writ against the bishop and Wryth, wrongfully claiming that Wryth was the incumbent, and the presentment was thus recovered to the king, who then presented Crowle to the church.
