Nature of request
Original writ of Richard II, dated 18 June 1388, to the sheriff of Bedfordshire, ordering him to summon John Stacy before the king at the quindene of John the Baptist next to answer the king with regard to the prebend of Leighton Buzzard, from which Kyrkestede claims to have been unjustly ousted.

Ralph FitzRichard, sheriff.By virtue of this writ, by John Keteryng and John Morton of Leighton Buzzard, worthy men of my bailiwick, it was made known to Stacy that he should be before you as shown.On which day he was given day at the octave of Michaelmas next.
