Nature of endorsement
[on face] The king grants this petition on the advice of the council, and sends it to the Keeper of the Privy Seal.[on dorse] Concerning the first article, let the will be shown, and the king will make confirmation as the will is in accordance with the law, and as he may without prejudice to the same.Concerning the second article, the king is unable to do this.Concerning the third article, the king wishes that the ordinances of the late war made by the kings' grandfather and the prince in the parts of Guyenne be held.
Places mentioned
Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, [Guyenne, France]

People mentioned
John (Johan) de Grelli (Greilly), captal de Buch

Keeper of the Privy Seal.
Note
Dated on the guard to? c. 1378, with reference to a variety of grants made to the petitioner at this time, including his homage, which may suggest a date around the same time as the first request. However, Lord Neville was seneschal of Gascony between 1378 and 1381, and the reference to him as 'then Lieutenant' would suggest a date some time after 1381.
