Nature of request
John Aubrey states that he held his collation to the collegiate church of Glasney for over nineteen years, but that when he was absent at the court of Rome Benet de Canterbury, falsely claiming that the benefice was vacant, secured presentment from the king and ousted him from possession. He therefore requests that the king order Canterbury to appear before him and show his title to the office, and that he be restored.

Note
Canterbury was appointed to this benefice on 14 June 1395, and thus presumably this petition dates to some point shortly thereafter, following Aubrey's return from Rome.
