[This petition is damaged and illegible in places.]Arnauton de Campaigne requests that he be granted the provostry of La Reole, currently in the hands of the French, in consideration of the long service given to the king, his father and his grandfather in their wars by him and his father.

Note
Date on the guard to c. 1377-86, but no evidence cited. However it clearly dates to the reign of Richard II, and the appearance of Burley's signature clearly dates it to before his trial and execution in 1388. The endorsement is similar to those found on others in this file from c. 1383 (e.g. SC 8/222/11088).
