Balthasar Obriake requests that the queen ask the king to grant him letters of safe conduct to trade in England, recalling his service to the queen and her family.

[on face] The king has granted this bill at the request of the Queen.Memorandum that Peter Marke and Nicholas Luke, merchants of Lombardy, came before the king in chancery on 13 September this year and swore that the aforesaid Balthasar has never had any residence amongst the king's enemies, nor is there any restriction on his oath or fidelity.Simon Burley.

Dated on the guard to c. 1384, with reference to CPR 1381-5, p.458, a licence for the petitioner to buy and sell wine. That licence was issued on 14 September 1384, which seems likely to be the day after the memorandum added to the foot of this petition.
