Note
The inquisition into this matter was held on Friday 28 March 1393, and the requested pardon was granted on 18 November 1394. The scene of the killing is given here as 'Bayuse', presumably the part of the tithing of Winford held by the family of the victim. However, this location is named as 'Bathefeldisyete' in the associated inquisition, and in the patent roll calendar (where it is (seemingly mistakenly) identified as Bayfield in Norfolk). This is perhaps more likely to be a street or area within that tithing, rather than necessarily an alternative name for the same place.
