Description
Petitioners
Anne of Bohemia, Queen of England.
Name(s)
Bohemia, Queen of England, Anne
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
The queen requests that the king issue new letters patent to her treasurer, Thomas More, granting him the office of treasurer of Abergwili in the diocese of St David's, together with the prebend of Llangammarch. This was granted earlier, but others have since requested confirmation of these to Bekyngham.
Nature of endorsement
[None]
Places mentioned
Barnwell, [Cambridgeshire]
Abberguilly (Abergwili), [Carmarthenshire, Wales]
St David's diocese
Llangammarch, [Brecknockshire, Wales].
People mentioned
Thomas More, clerk
Thomas Bekyngham.
Note
The original grant to More was made on 10 October 1388, re-granted during the vacancy of the see in (? March) 1389, and again ratified on 14 October 1390. The petition, which requests the re-issue of the original letters rather than a simple ratification, probably relates to the letters of early-1389, although the note on the guard appears to relate it to the later ratification.
