[The right side of this petition is damaged.]William Ely, parson of Beccles, requests remedy against Duke, and his servant Garneys, who have troubled him and his servants concerning certain disagreements and trespasses, despite an earlier agreement before the Duchess of Norfolk and her council that such matters be put aside.
Nature of endorsement
The said Robert and Robert are to be before the council on the following Thursday, namely the vigil of St Andrew 21 Richard II (29 November 1397).On which day the said William Ely, Robert Duke and Robert Garneys appeared before the king and his council in Chancery, and given day to appear in the same chancery at the quindene of Easter next.
