Full description and record details

Reference
SC 8/221/11037
Date
[1397-1399]
Description
Petitioners
Thomas de Beauchamp and Margaret de Beauchamp, his wife.
Name(s)
de Beauchamp; de Beauchamp, Thomas; Margaret
Addressees
King.
Places mentioned
Windsor, [Berkshire].
Nature of request
Thomas and Margaret Beauchamp request that they be granted various items of bedding, silverware, clothing and equipment for a chaplain, kitchenware and goods for Margaret's chamber, as granted by the king at Windsor, as well as chariots and horses for Margaret.
Nature of endorsement
[None].
Note
Dated on the guard to 1397, with reference to an order of 16 November 1397 for certain items to be delivered to the petitioners. However, these do not include the chariots and horses mentioned at the end, and thus that order may relate to the earlier Windsor grant mentioned in the petition, rather than this particular request. The petition clearly relates to the aftermath of the forfeiture of Thomas, formerly the Earl of Warwick, on 28 September 1397 (the goods concerned being those of the petitioners, seized as a result), and evidently pre-dates Thomas' restoration on 19 November 1399 (and presumably also Richard II's deposition on 29 September 1399).
