The Dean and Chapter of the new collegiate church of Our Lady at Leicester (Newark College) request that the king continue to pay an annuity of 100 marks to them from the honour of Leicester. They state that their founder, Henry, Duke of Lancaster, enfeoffed certain persons within the honour of Tutbury and elsewhere for the purpose of completing their church and other buildings, and that [John of Gaunt] then took this back from the feoffees and granted this annuity from the honour of Leicester instead, which honour is now in the king's hands following Gaunt's death.
