The petitioners request remedy, stating that they were granted the advowson of High Laver, with other property, by Henry de Ferrers, but that, on the resignation of Edenestowe (appointed by Henry's father, William), Thorn persuaded the king that the advowson pertained to the crown, and secured the appointment for himself, to the disinheritance of the petitioners.
