Nature of request
The men of London make a series of five requests.1) They complain that a grant made by the king to Gascon merchants selling wine in the city of London is contrary to earlier ordinances granted by them to the king, and ask that the earlier form might be adhered to.2) They ask that the statute of Gloucester concerning foreign warrants vouched in pleas of land might be amended, as it is causing great harm and great delays to the demandant in such cases.3) They request remedy regarding cases brought by the Jews in the court of Husting over ownership of tenements in the city.4) They request remedy for the heirs of people who died before the last eyre and who are now amerced for the actions of their ancestors.5) They request remedy for those who were attached between the two eyres to appear at this eyre, and who are amerced because they did not come on the first day - something which has not been done before.
