Nature of request
Joan, late the wife of Adam de Newmarche, requests remedy, stating that she has impleaded Constance de Bearn for her dower of certain property in Wheatley, but that Constance has claimed that she is unable to answer without the king, producing charters showing that Constance holds this land for life of the king's gift. She states that Freskenade will warrant the king for this, as he holds other lands of her late husband in Harwell and sold the lands concerned to the king, the charter of which is held by Normanville.
