Roger de Rideware requests that he be delivered by law from the Abbot of Westminster's prison, where he has remained for a year and a half awaiting his appeal for the death of his master, Thomas de Arderne, who was killed in Staffordshire when he was on service in London: as Arderne's widow has appealed him of this murder, then maliciously abandoned her suit, wishing him to die in prison.
