Name(s)
de Arcy (Darcy), Robert
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Robert de Arcy states that, with the king's permission, he enfeoffed his lands to Borham when he went with the king to Flanders, and now requests that Borham be allowed to re-enfeoff him of those lands, to hold of the king in chief.
Nature of endorsement
It pleases the king if the others wish to do this.

[Dunston, Lincolnshire].
People mentioned
John de Borham.
Note
The original enfeoffment was licensed on 16 July 1297. The Flanders campaign lasted from August 1297 until March 1298, and the petition presumably dates to some point shortly after the campaign's return. Robert was pardoned on 10 April 1303 for acquiring Dunston without licence from Norman de Arcy.
