Transcript of pleas taken before the king at Westminster in Easter term 33 Edward I (1305), relating to the case of Richard atte Hawe, accused of allowing the escape of Alice Droys, a felon committed to his keeping in Oxford Castle because she was pregnant at the time of her conviction. He denied being responsible for her escape, but it was said that his servant Berne abducted her from the castle. Hawe claimed that he was a clerk, and was committed to prison.
