Description
Petitioners
Rees ap Howel.
Name(s)
ap Howel, Rees
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Rees ap Howel states that he holds two parts of the manor of Talgarth of the king and FitzReginald, and a third part for life, the reversion of which is the king's. He requests that he may exchange this for the manor of Pontesbury, adjoining the king's lordship of Montgomery, giving FitzReginald satisfaction for his part. He accepts that Pontesbury is worth far more than the third of Talgarth, but he is much poorer than the king.
Nature of endorsement
Have a writ to the escheator this side of Trent to extend the king's portion in the manor of Talgarth and also the manor of Pontesbury in Shropshire, and enquire if it is to the king's damage to make the exchange, and send these extents and inquisition to the king and council.

Montgomery lordship, [Montgomeryshire, Wales].
People mentioned
