Nature of request
Alice de Beauchamp makes five separate requests.1) She requests the keeping of Gloucester castle and Barton Regis in payment of debts owed to her late husband.2) She states that her husband was pardoned for the escape of Seint Cler and Urry from Gloucester castle, and requests that his heirs also be pardoned any fines.3) She requests allowance for houses and fish weirs built by her husband at Gloucester.4) She requests that 100 marks pledged by her husband and others for the keeping of the manor of Erith be discharged, and their costs in the manor be reimbursed, as the manor has since been grantee to the queen.5) She also requests assistance, as the goods of her husband do not cover her debts, and she has nothing by which she and her children may live.
