Nature of request
[This petition is damaged and parts are missing or illegible.]The people of Bamburgh ward request remedy, stating that when they spoke with Moray about a truce for £270, the constable of Bamburgh also demanded an equal sum, thus preventing the agreement. They also state that, when they brought their goods to the castle for safe-keeping, the constable charged them 12d for each plot, while the gate-keepers also charged them fines to enter and leave the castle. Finally, they state that Jack le Irys purveyed goods from them without making payment.
Nature of endorsement
It was agreed by the council that a writ of oyer and terminer be issued to certain people to hear and determine the trespass of the constable and the plaints.
