Badly damaged and incomplete petition relating to the fee farm of the sheriff of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, and how grants of various lands have meant that the holders are no longer required to contribute to this fee farm, making the traditional sum impossible to collect, to the detriment of the sheriffs and the people. The petition refers to earlier inquests held under a commission directed to Thorp and Willoughby.
