Nature of request
The petitioners, attorneys and proctors for Moigne and his fellow merchants of Flanders, state that, on 12 July last, Haule and his force seized a ship called the Katherine of Sluis off the coast of Cantabria, taking it to Dartmouth. They request that the king order Haule either to restore the ship and merchandise to them, or appear before them at the week of Michaelmas next to answer this matter, as the ambassadors at Calais have written to the king for the delivery of this ship.
Nature of endorsement
On 16 August in the third year it was agreed by the council that a writ be issued to Haule to be before the Council on the octave of Michaelmas next to answer the charges made in this petition. Before the Chancellor, Treasurer and Keeper of the Privy Seal.
