Note
The attack is said to have taken place in October 1403, and the details appear in a commission of April 1406 (addressed to a different sergeant to that requested, and dating the attack to January 1404). This would suggest that this petition dates to some point between those dates. However, the handwriting and damage strongly resemble other petitions in this file datable to 1404, particularly SC 8/217/10841, another petition from this petitioner regarding a different attack.
