Nature of request
The petitioners, masters of two ships of Spain, state that their ships were taken at sea on 19 October last by the fleets of Bristol, Plymouth and Dartmouth, and taken to Bristol. They request that the king grant them a sergeant-at-arms with letters directed to the mayor, sheriff and bailiffs of Bristol, Thomas Norton, admiral of the fleet and others, ordering them to restore the ship and its cargo to the petitioners.
