Nature of request
A request that the council grant writs from the Chancery to the collectors of [reasonable aid] to cease the distress against the tenants of Culham and Uxbridge because the said lordships are held of the honour of Wallingford which belongs to the duchy of Cornwall.
Nature of endorsement
On 12 March in the third year (1402) it was agreed that all those who complain to the chancellor that the collectors of reasonable aid demand or wish to levy the said aid from those who do not hold of the King in chief or in socage, contrary to the statute, should have writs addressed to the same collectors ordering them not to cross the boundaries of their commission and not to make demands or levies other than according to their commission.
