Barbour and Balne request remedy because by the statute made in the twenty-eighth year of Edward III's reign, ... and staple that if any merchant is robbed of his goods at sea and these goods come to any port of the realm and he sues to have recovery of them, he is permitted to reject the said goods ... or coket or by good and loyal merchants and by such proof should have delivery of the said goods, and the petitioners [loaded a ship at] Great Yarmouth with freestone and other merchandises to the value of £40, which ship by Chapman, Roweland, Hoke, Drask, Marcham, Cole, Haerman, Outberd, Hudson, Hudson and ... on the sea the petitioners' servants were taken, robbed and brought to the port of Great Yarmouth to Gas... by machination between Gas... and the malefactors sold and delivered on 22 March in the fourth year of the King's reign (1403) ... of the petitioners' ship, stone and goods, but Gas... and the other malefactors will not deliver them to the petitioners.
