Pichecowe, Campe and Gram request that whereas they recently presented a petition against the barges and balingers of Rye who captured them at sea on their way to Southampton with 48 lasts of white herring, whereon a writ was sent to the constable of Dover ordering him to enquire into the crime, arrest the men and take the goods into safe-keeping, and he arrested Trum and received £166 which he has given for safe-keeping to atte Halle, their host at Dover, until he has a warrant of delivery, that the constable be granted the warrant of delivery and charged to enquire into the remainder of their goods which amounts to about £50, and that the bailiffs and customers of Rye be ordered to make restitution to the petitioners for the injurious custom which they have taken from them.
