Ormeshevede requests that whereas he is so poor that he cannot afford a chaplain, and he and his servants dare not approach their vicarage since they fear death because of the threats of Richard de Salkeld, who is a great instigator of quarrels in the region, to the damage of his parishioners through lack of divine service, and of the ill through lack of a chaplain, that a writ of supplicavit on pain of £200 be delivered to the justices of the peace for Cumbria to take surety of peace from Salkeld, his brother and his men.

A writ of supplicavit should be made as requested, that is, that Salkeld should find surety of peace for him, his brother and his men, on pain of £200 paid to the King.
