[The document is damaged and illegible in places.] Caupena requests that whereas his father gave him certain lands and rents in Aquitaine which he held peacefully until la Bret, the father, by his power put the said lands and rents ... and they are still held by force by the lord of Mussidan and other of the King's lieges overseas, that a commission be granted directed to the seneschal, constable and other ... to call before them the lord of Mussidan and others who occupy the said lands and rents ... and that they do justice to the parties ....
Nature of endorsement
The seneschal of Aquitaine, the constable and mayor of Bordeaux, William and Boneu, four, three or two of them, should be assigned by commission to summon the parties and do justice to them, and the petitioner should have what he requests.
