Nature of request
Labrit requests that whereas the people of Aquitaine, for their safety and that of their goods and to preserve their lives, have been in the obedience of the King's enemy of France, because of his very great power there, that he be granted power to pardon all lieges and others in the King's true obedience for their actions in the rebellion, and to return their goods and inheritances to them.
Nature of endorsement
The council has agreed that the petitioner should have power to receive to the King's obeisance those who wish it and to signify their names to Kestrop so that they may have charters of pardon of all their forfeitures, excesses, crimes and rebellions and be restored to their goods and inheritances. And sufficient power should be given to Kestrop to make such charters for such persons and all other rebels who wish to come to the King's obeisance, so that the King will give to all who do so before the 20th of this present month of June in the sixth year (1383), their goods and inheritances had before this same day.
