People of Fronsac, Cadillac, Guîtres, Cenac, the isle of le Carney and Asques.

Nature of request
The people of Fronsac, Cadillac, Guitres, Cenac, the isle of le Carney and Asques request:1) that whereas while Fronsac has been at war their lords and governors have imposed and forced them to pay for repairs, manual labour, taxes, subsidies, oppressions, tallages, exactions of corn, wine, money and other undue grievances when the petitioners have always been quit and free of such things, and have procured and brought serjeants and other useless officers to the country exceeding the customary number, which they are not allowed to do without the assent of the petitioners, that the King absolve and pardon them of all undue impositions, revoke all appointments of useless serjeants and officers, and grant that in future no officers be procured without the assent of the petitioners and their successors;2) that they may appoint one or more attorneys to maintain their franchises, liberties and rights in all courts for all of them together and for each of them;3) that they may assemble each year to discuss their business;4) that they may put their goods in Bordeaux and elsewhere and sell them freely throughout the duchy of Guyenne as the other people of the country do.
Nature of endorsement
Power should be sent to the seneschal of Aquitaine and the constable of Bordeaux and others of the King's council in these parts concerning the rights belonging to the castle of Fronsac before the constitution and of all things contained in this bill, and if they find that anything was done unduly to burden and oppress the people and subjects of the said lordship, they should have power to cause it to be redressed.
