Nature of request
The bailiffs and community of both halves of Tamworth, one in Warwickshire held of the King and the other in Staffordshire held of the Earl of Pembroke, request remedy because grievous dissension has arisen between them and the tenants of Walsall on account of the levying of toll and other profits of a market which the petitioners hold at Tamworth every Saturday. The tenants of Walsall have attacked the petitioners' houses, come to the market with force and arms and beaten and wounded some people, and threatened them so severely that the petitioners fear to ask for the tolls and profits from the people of Walsall.
