Nature of request
Albert and other Lombard merchants of Italy recount that they had in Vydale's ship oil laden in the port of Gaeta and other merchandises laden in Assabia to go directly to Sluis, but the ship was driven by storm to Bristol and wrecked. The master put the goods into another ship to continue the journey to Flanders, without putting or intending to put any of the merchandises up for sale, yet the customers of Bristol came and demanded custom for the same merchandises, so that the master had to find pledges. The petitioners request that the customers discharge the said pledges and deliver their sureties to them.
