Wilford requests remedy from Manfeld, Paris, Haukyn and Horsman, who had the safekeeping of the sea from the King's enemies from Winchelsea to Berwick, since by their default the petitioner lost his ship and merchandises. His ship was loaded at Scarborough with salted fish worth £30, and was sailing towards London when various enemies of the King came and captured it with all its merchandises, while Manfeld, Paris, Haukyn and Horsman remained anchored in the port of Orwell where they had been for a week and where they remained for a further two weeks.
