Askeby states that despite his proclamation, made during Grimsby's fair on the feast of St Bartholomew last, that no one should go with force and arms in disturbance of the King's peace, Kelby, Fisher and Kelby came to his house with force and arms and beat him so that for two days he did not dare to leave his house to perform his office for fear of being killed. The petitioner requests that Kelby, Fisher and Kelby appear before the King to answer for their actions and that he may have remedy in this matter.
Nature of endorsement
Kelby, Fisher and Kelby should each have writs directing them to appear before the King and his council on the quinzaine of St Hillary, on pain of £40.
