John, Marquis of Dorset requests letters patent excusing him from crossing the sea for the next 40 days, since on 5 April last the King excused him from going overseas from the first day he was retained to do so until the last day of April then next, on which day he wished the petitioner to be ready to cross, and now the council has charged the petitioner to remain with them until it pleases them.

[On face] This bill was granted by the council at St Albans on 7 July in the 23rd year (1399) and delivered to the Chancery in order that justice be done.
