- On 23 December in the 9th year of the reign of Richard II (1385), Bretby, appearing in Chancery, promised on pain of £1000 to be in Chancery on the octave of St Hillary to answer concerning matters which will be explained to him, and to do and receive what the court ordains, and on the same day Windsor, Lasyngcroft, Elmesale, Yeland and Lucas, appearing in Chancery, pledged on pain of £1000 to have Bretby in Chancery on the said day.
