Nature of request
Writ of certiorari of Richard II concerning goods and merchandises of Prussian merchants arrested in Kingston upon Hull at the suit of various English merchants in the name of reprisal for their goods and merchandises arrested in Prussia, and of their true value. The mayor and bailiffs are ordered to return to the Chancery the writ under their seal at the feast of St Thomas the Martyr next, remitting the said goods and merchandises to the King.
Nature of endorsement
Response of the mayor and bailiffs of the liberty of Kingston upon Hull: we arrested various goods and merchandises of Prussian merchants to the value of £235 15s. in the name of reprisal for certain goods and merchandises of various English merchants arrested in Prussia.
