- Nature of request
- Swart, here to buy wool and other merchandises under the King's protection, recounts that whereas Wiltshire owes money to Hase for which repayment is long overdue, and has gone into hiding and will not pay the money, on 13 January last Hase, espying Wiltshire in Bonet's house, went with his companions to Vanner who went to Bonet's house with a serjeant of the court who searched the house in order to arrest Wiltshire who escaped. In a bill to the mayor of London Bonet maliciously accused the petitioner of coming to his house with Hase with force and arms to kill him, when Swart was not there and knew nothing about it, but for which he has been imprisoned. The petitioner requests that the mayor of London be ordered to arrest Bonet and cause him to appear before the council to be punished for his false accusation.
