Description
Petitioners
James Moy of Flanders; companions of James Moy.
Name(s)
Moy, James
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Moy and his companions request the deliverance of their ships, since after selling their merchandises in the ports of Dartmouth and Plymouth the Admiral of the West arrested their ships without cause, and when the petitioners sued, the council granted them a writ to the admiral or his lieutenant to deliver the said ships.
Nature of endorsement
Because the letter of the searchers of Dartmouth, attached to this bill, was read in parliament before the admiral, and he said nothing as to why the deliverance should not be made, it is agreed that they should have their ships and goods and be permitted to go freely.

England.
People mentioned
[Hugh de Courtenay], Admiral of the West.
Note
Dated on the guard to 1380, with reference to CCR 1377-81, p.424, a 1380 order to return ships and goods to Moy, in accordance with this petition.
