Nature of request
Writ of Richard II, in response to Walden's petition that while Windsor was keeper of Cherbourg he lent gold and victuals to Auston and other lieutenants and soldiers there for which he still has not been repaid, ordering the sheriff of Yorkshire to cause Auston to appear before him and his council on the octave of Michaelmas next to answer to Walden for what is owed to him by Auston and the other lieutenants and soldiers, since the King had previously sent him another writ ordering him to appear before the King and council in Chancery on a certain day and he did not appear.1)
Nature of endorsement
Hilton sent a full return of this writ to Mauncell but has received no answer.2) Hilton answers that Auston has nothing in his bailiwick outside the liberty of Osgoldcross by which he can be attached.3) Osgoldcross.
