The petitioner, as the king's proctor of St Macaire, reports the great poverty of the town and castle as a result of the pestilence and mortality, requests letters of safe-conduct for Saus, Spynel, Counkes and Geraud, and asks that Passeran, Pasterel and de Ruan be appointed sergeants of the town, the three previous sergeants having died in the mortality.
