Nature of request
Inquisition made at Kirkby Malzeard before Herlaston and Aldeburgh by a jury who say that Henry, late abbot of Byland was seised of the forest of Middlesmoor from the time of the levying of a fine between him and Roger de Mowbray, and that he and his successors were seised of it until the forest was taken into the king's hand by the escheator after the death and forfeiture of John de Mowbray, and that the king's ministers impeded the abbot in his enjoyment of the same.
